ABOUT THE STORYTELLER

Kendall Latimer is enchanted by the art of conversation and the power of storytelling. She’s first and foremost a writer — a journalist by trade and a poet by night. Latimer creates powerful, thoughtful work with words, documentaries, photography, cinematography and sound. She has travelled close to home and across the globe, trying to understand others and our communities.

ON JOURNALISM

Latimer enjoys writing features, analysis and character-driven stories the most. She strives to amplify the voices of people who might not have a platform and often digs into stories of injustice, vulnerability and accountability. Not limited to words, she often illustrates her own pieces with photography. She has produced, written and mixed audio documentaries and podcast episodes. She has been lead videographer on multiple visual documentaries. The award-winning journalist has worked with CBC Saskatchewan since 2016, but freelances on the side. Don't hesitate to reach out with an idea! She's worked as a journalist in Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, as well as abroad in Thailand and West Africa. With roots in Saskatchewan, she is inspired most by the province’s diverse people and landscapes.
